The Lowry Hotel, part of the exclusive Rocco Forte Collection have created a selection of packages to make sure that festive celebrations go with a bang this Christmas and New Year.

Weary Christmas shoppers are offered respite in the form of The River Bar and Restaurant’s indulgent afternoon tea, served every afternoon from 3.30pm-5.30pm.  The traditional afternoon tea is available for £19.50 per person, or for the truly decadent there’s a champagne and mulled wine afternoon tea at £29.50.  Afternoon tea is being served on Boxing Day and New Years Day, the perfect excuse to avoid left over turkey fatigue.

The hotel will also be hosting a series of glamorous party nights (£47.50 on the 6th, 8th, 13th and 22nd December) in the run up to Christmas, so whether going out with work or catching up with friends, people can let their hair down in style.  The evening begins with a cocktail reception at 7.30pm, followed by a seasonal menu designed by National Chef of the Year Eyck Zimmer.  After enjoying three mouth-watering courses, revellers can dance the night away to the hip sounds of the hotel’s resident DJ. Party goers who want to crash out in one of the hotel’s glamorous rooms after all the fun will be able to stay over for the special discounted rate of £75 per person.

The award winning River Bar and Restaurant will also be offering a seasonal Christmas three-course menu for either lunch or dinner throughout the festive period for £30.00 per person.

On Christmas Day itself, guests will be able to escape the kitchen and be served a family style meal in the beautiful surroundings of The River Bar and Restaurant.  A supurb festive atmosphere is guaranteed, with a live band entertaining diners as they relax and enjoy Christmas day with their family and friends.  Whether people want to enjoy the traditional turkey dinner cooked to perfection or go for something more unusual, the River Bar and Restaurant will give diners a Christmas Day to remember.  The meal costs £115 per person and children under 12 are half price.

Guests looking for something truly special to see in 2008 should join The Lowry Hotel for its spectacular New Years Eve party at The River Bar and Restaurant. The night begins with an elegant pre-dinner reception where revellers can enjoy a glass or perfectly chilled champagne and sample the restaurant’s selection of delicious canapés.  A sumptuous dinner will be served at 8.30pm, after which a band will be performing to create a magical atmosphere to get the party started.  Just before the stroke of midnight, guests will all by given champagne to toast in the New Year whilst enjoying a spectacular firework display.  Tickets will cost £150 per person.
